see now i think alli is a good idea cos all it really does is makes you learn to have a less fatty diet because the more fat you intake the higher risk of losing it in ya pants so you learn to cut the fat out of ya diet its a good idea for them who dont have alot of will power because it plays on the insecurity that ya gonna do it in ya pants and so you cut out the fatty foods its a brilliant idea just people dont realise you can get the same tablets of their GP called xenical i think it is alli is overly priced in my view thumbs up for who created it x

There are some cases when we need to toughen up, but sometimes you need help! I can see why people will reach for the meds when things get scary, because sometimes my allergies can produce some serious side effects. This article explains what happens in the body during anaphylaxis in easy-to-understand terms. http://www.diagnosingallergies.com/articles/anaphylaxis/index.php

I think that this is so funny - To think that it's been PROVEN that chicken soup really does have healing power is amazing. I recall being sick as a child, and having unwaivering trust in the fact that Mom's chicken soup would heal me. What an interesting article!

I have been in this same situation as well - it is frustrating to have sick coworkers in the office. You run the risk of everyone else getting sick as well, and the company being understaffed! I think that it's frustrating that some people will use illness as a method of gaining sympathy from coworkers when they should simply stay at home to recuperate. Unless one's workload is out of control, the sick employee should definitely not be in the office.

I too have heard that antibiotics are being overutilized in today's health world. I recall that my sister used to give me the "evil eye" every time I would pull out my antibacterial gel out of my purse. It makes sense that the more these antibiotics are used, the stronger the germs and infections grow, so I agree with the author in that we need to just toughen up!

I think that we have all been here at one point or another. I feel very badly for Janet, as I can empathize completely with what she is experiencing. It is very important to remember that we only have one go around in this life - our body is a temple and we should honor it. Good habits of sleeping, eating, exercising, etc. are imperative to assure a long healthy life. I would recommend that Janet speak with friends and family, or pursue some sort of support group online with the same goals.

I agree with the author in that Americans have grown accustomed to finding a "quick fix" for any issue. Instant gratification is one aspect of our American culture of which I'm not very proud. As an avid fan of exercise, I believe that pills such as Alli are indeed "too good to be true," and the only healthy way to lose weight is to combine healthy eating habits with a strict exercise regimen.
