Gender-Related, Health, Skin Disorders

In the past, a lot of attention was not paid to men’s skin care. Whether this was because men’s skin was considered stronger and therefore able to take more abuse than women’s skin or because it was not considered manly to talk about men’s skin is unclear. What is clear is that men’s skin needs attention just as women’s skin does. And, for men, it is just as important to establish a men’s skin care routine as it is for women.

Fortunately, many companies who make cleansing products for the body and face are realizing this, also, and are beginning to make men’s skin care products. These products are designed to address the specific problems that can occur in men’s skin, as well as provide anti aging protection, just as women’s products do.

When used properly as part of a men’s skin care routine, these products not only provide anti aging properties, but also correct the damage that can often occur from the many common skin mistakes that men make. These mistakes can include not shaving properly, causing nicks, cuts, and razor burn, and not using sunscreen.

Yes, men’s skin needs protection from the sun, too. In fact, just as it is for women, sun protection is the best anti aging device there is. Sun damage causes wrinkles, and leads to a higher risk of skin cancer—something that both men and women can get.
