It is just as important for men to have healthy skin as it is for women. The skin is the body’s first line of defense for keeping infection from entering the body. Skin that is dry is more prone to cracking or peeling, both of which can allow bacteria to enter the body, possibly causing infection.
Healthy skin can be achieved with just a little effort. Men do not have to worry about following a strict skin regimen or routine; they only have to keep a few tips in mind. Hydrated skin is healthy skin. And, the best way to keep skin hydrated is to drink plenty of water. Drinking water not only benefits skin, but has an overall effect on the health of men in general. 64 ounces is the recommended amount of water to consume each day.
Healthy skin does need regular attention; however, as mentioned earlier, this does not mean men must adopt a time-consuming skin care regimen. Using the right products for one’s particular skin type will streamline the skin care routine, making it easy to have healthy skin each day and throughout life.
Healthy skin needs protection from the sun. A little sun exposure is necessary for Vitamin D production and absorption; however, 15 minutes a day is all that is needed to achieve that. Beyond that, it is important that men use sunscreen to prevent the risk of skin cancer, as well as to prevent over-drying of otherwise healthy skin.
