Headaches, Health

2887707520_f409efbfe9If you’ve ever experienced the intense pain of a bad headache, you may have wondered whether or not it was a migraine. A migraine headache isn’t much different than a severe headache except that it can cause you to suffer additional symptoms.

Symptoms of Migraine Headaches

Someone with a headache can usually go about their day with minimal interruption. A regular headache is mostly a nuisance and can usually be treated with over-the-counter pain medication such as Advil, Tylenol or Motrin. However, a migraine (a sever form of a headache) has other symptoms that prevent you from continuing your normal daily activities.

  • Fatigue
  • Dizziness
  • Seeing spots
  • Pain on one side of the head
  • Pain right behind the eye of the side that is experiencing the migraine
  • Increased pain when moving around
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Lightheaded
  • Sensitivity to light and sounds

Many people report that they experience a migraine aura right before one hits. This may include some of the following symptoms:

* Sleepiness

*Irritability

*Depression

*Seeing spots

*Disoriented

*Yawning

If you have these migraine symptoms, you may suffer from migraine headaches. It’s important to speak to your doctor about your symptoms because many medical conditions cause migraines. Once you are cleared from any other medical concerns, your doctor can then treat your migraines exclusively. Migraine prescription medications are available so ask your doctor about them.
