Understanding What Is Asthma and Asthma Symptoms

What Is Asthma

To start off, asthma is when your airways tighten because they are inflamed or filled with mucus. It makes it difficult for you to breathe. For some people, allergies bring on asthma symptoms, while for others, simply taking a brisk walk in  the cold weather is enough to make symptoms flare.

  • Coughing

This coughing could be as mild as a tickle in your throat to a violent cough that leaves you gasping for air.

  • Wheezing

Wheezing happens when you try to breath and you hear yourself making a sharp tone because you can’t get enough air.

  • Tightness, pain or pressure in chest

This is a serious symptom and could be a result of another medical issue such as a heart attack. If you have this symptom, seek medical attention immediately.

  • Difficulty breathing

Again, this can be a serious consequence of another medical issue and should be treated immediately.
