- Epigallocatechin (EGC)
- Gallocatechin (GC)
- Gallocatechin Gallate (GCG)
The most influential is EGC, which helps with bone formation, strength and inhibits the loss of bone mass.

A new study published in Journal of Periodontology, finds that green tea is beneficial to teeth and gums, reducing periodontal disease. The antioxidant catechin – acting as an anti-inflammatory – seems to be the key component in this health benefit.
Slow Prostate Cancer Progression
Men suffering from prostate cancer can slow the progression of this disease by drinking green tea, according to a study in Cancer Prevention Research. Not only does it slow progression but it can also prevent it. A reduction of serum markers are claimed as the reason behind this affect on prostate cancer.
Enhance the Effectiveness of Your Antibiotics
With all the talk of superbugs because of the intense cleaning and sanitizing people do these days, it’s useful to know the green tea can help with these superbugs. If you’re on antibiotics, you can increase their effectiveness by drinking green tea. Egyptian scientists are to thank for this new information. One of the results they found is that green tea enhances the effectiveness of chloramphenicol to as much as 99.99%.

I’m a tea addict. I could never get through an entire day without a cup of freshly-brewed loose green tea. The smell alone is enough to make my mouth water and the delicious sensation of fresh hot tea sliding down my throat is something that I always take time to relish during my tea break. Green tea has tons of health benefits and is a great source of antioxidants. The ever increasing sale of green tea actually, is due to its ability to produce fat oxidation.
