Health, Weight Loss

While the new Raisin is still in its development stages, it’s surely going to hit the market running. Individuals, who are looking to monitor their heart rate to find out how many calories they are burning during a workout to help with weight loss, may want to keep an eye out on this to find out when it does come out.

The new contraption sends signals wirelessly via Bluetooth to your iPhone. With the according app, your iPhone will gather bodily information and turn into stats about what your heart is doing.

Why You Would Want the Raisin

Of course, you could simply buy the heart rate monitor that have at exercise equipment stores but using your iPhone just seems more exciting. Just when you thought “What else could my phone do?” you get this.

The benefit of having your phone keep track of you heart rate is that, well, you (almost) always have your phone with you. You may forget and leave your heart rate monitor at home…this way, that won’t matter. One less thing to remember to pack in your gym bag.

The other reason why you would want it on your phone is that I bet there will be a way to transmit your information to a social networking site like Facebook so you can share how well you did on your workout. If it doesn’t have that capability when it comes out, I am sure that it’s not long before it will.

So what do you think of it? Are you going to give it a try?
