Stress has been disadvantages. It’s detrimental to your health and can cause problems in other areas of your life such as relationships and work. What some people don’t think about is that stress can actually lead you to risky behavior as well.

When you are stressing out, your tolerance for things around you is low. You’re overwhelmed and you just don’t care about anything else that is going to cause you even more stress. This can lead you to many risky behaviors:

  • If you are stressed out and end up in traffic, you are more likely to weave in and out of cars, which could cause an accident.
  • Stress can cause you to drive faster as well.
  • Working on machinery during stressful times can keep you from paying attention as well as you usually do which could cause you to make a mistake and hurt yourself.
  • When you are fed up with the day, you may throw things around or be haphazardly when dealing with things are you.
  • Stressed people feel like they are on a time limit, so they may move faster and experience more falls.
  • Stress can lead you to alcohol or drug addiction because you believe that these substances will decrease your stress.
  • Stress can cause you to deal with people you normally wouldn’t, such as criminals, drug dealers, etc.

The best way to protect yourself physically, mentally and prevent putting yourself at risk is to combat stress right away. Keep yourself stress-free to be healthy and safe!
